After searching the internet for mechanical digits Drighlington Cricket Club decided to convert their old scoreboard to an all electronic scoreboard as this would be more cost effective and reliable than the old system.

John Varley,who is one of the players and has a large amount of experience in electronic design was asked to design a replacement system. His design is based on a system of modules which can easily be added to as required for future development.
